KiliClimb 2019 World Record

Learn about Anne's World Record Climb

Details of her climb below:

The climb took place on the Rongai Route July 12-20, 2019.

We put together a custom 9-day Rongai climb. https://www.ultimatekilimanjaro.com/rongai_route.htm

The 5-day safari visited Lake Manyara, Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire from July 6-10, 2019. These are the best safari locations in Tanzania and the Serengeti is known as one of the best in the world. The group stayed at a mix of tented camps and lodges depending on the day and the location. While near Karatu (day one and four) they stayed at the  Country Lodge. While in the Serengeti (day two and three) they stayed at the Serengeti Heritage Camp. More information about the safari can be found in our guidebook: https://www.ultimatekilimanjaro.com/Ultimate_Kilimanjaro_Safari_Guide.pdf

Highlights of the Trip

Anne and fellow climbers experienced:

1) The driver-guide for the safari was the best Anne ever had met. He could spot animals that were invisible to everyone else. He would stop and let the animals be photographed.
2) During the safari, Anne slipped on a mat in a tent camp area and unbeknownst to her, broke 3 ribs. She still climbed with severe pain.
3) Anne and her supporters climbed through 5 climate zones–meaning they experienced all sorts of weather and vegetation.
4) People also climbing, who encountered Anne, stopped to have their pictures taken with Anne and offered congratulations.
5) At the summit, Anne and crew documented and photographed her reaching the top!
6) At the end of the climb the guides sang and danced in celebration for Anne's successful ascent of the tallest mountain in Africa.
7) Still in Africa, Anne interviewed a local hotel manager who supports children in school. She also visited the school in person! Anne was so moved that she donated some funds and supplies that could be given to the kids.
8)  Once home, Anne was met by supporters at the airport to congratulate her and was interviewed by ABC15 and other media.

Anne is available for speaking opportunities!
