Anne and fellow climbers experienced:
1) The driver-guide for the safari was the best Anne ever had met. He could spot animals that were invisible to everyone else. He would stop and let the animals be photographed.
2) During the safari, Anne slipped on a mat in a tent camp area and unbeknownst to her, broke 3 ribs. She still climbed with severe pain.
3) Anne and her supporters climbed through 5 climate zones–meaning they experienced all sorts of weather and vegetation.
4) People also climbing, who encountered Anne, stopped to have their pictures taken with Anne and offered congratulations.
5) At the summit, Anne and crew documented and photographed her reaching the top!
6) At the end of the climb the guides sang and danced in celebration for Anne's successful ascent of the tallest mountain in Africa.
7) Still in Africa, Anne interviewed a local hotel manager who supports children in school. She also visited the school in person! Anne was so moved that she donated some funds and supplies that could be given to the kids.
8) Once home, Anne was met by supporters at the airport to congratulate her and was interviewed by ABC15 and other media.
